The average price of gas in Canada was up 3.4 cents midday Tuesday, as the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil hovered around $84 US. The jump in oil prices was mainly due to ratcheting tensions between the U.S. and Iran, but that wasn't the only global conflict impacting the energy industry.
